Head’s Holiday 2018
At Monday’s All School Meeting, interim Head of School Pam Clarke decided to stick with a KUA tradition with her announcement of a much-needed Head’s Holiday. After a moving speech on values and traditions, Ms. Clarke revealed the iconic red tie, a symbol indicating the announcement of a Head’s Holiday, and was met by cheers that filled the auditorium.
The day kicked off with lunch activities, including eating “Donut on a String”, “Bobbing for Apples”, and a pumpkin carving contest. Students were given the opportunity to go on town trips to West Lebanon for Halloween costume shopping, as well as Hanover trips to grab free burritos at Boloco. On-campus activities were also available, including baking with Ms. Mellow in Chellis and gaming with Mr. McDonough in the Makerspace.
Before dinner, students were able to play board games and make s’mores in Doe dining hall. Fans of the New England Patriots enjoyed pretzels and wings while watching the Patriots game in the evening, winding up an eventful Head’s Holiday 2018.
